    Default My humble setup

    Hi folks
This is my latest system the Bryston power amp and the Densen Beat Pre amp no longer being used.
Have my PC running Roon although bit of a waste now with the Sooloos working again.

Quite happy with it all at the moment mebbe a few little tweaks wire wise. Change Sooloos for a new roon ready streamer at some point. Then again is a system ever finished

My step back into hifi probably 15 year ago or so. Standard laptop running foobar at the time i think, Beresford Caimen dac with offboard power supply, Densen beat 200 pre amp, Exposure mono blocks, Monitor audio gold 50 speakers.Did prefer this room for listening but room im currently in doesnt fit a pool table so decided to move.

Next upgrade saw the introduction of the Meridian Sooloos control 15 with bereford dac hiding behind it, out went the exposure monos and in came the bryston 8b power amp. Suddenly so much more verve and attack.

Eyup broths back wi his amps and brought his speakers with him as well this time . Love hearing his system has a lot of character and very open just doesnt kick ass enough for me, is lush for a lot of stuff though. My change was the PMC PB1s gorgeous speakers not to bruths liking but suit what i want down to a T. Clear powerful and plenty of detail although bruths may go bit lower in the bass.

So that how i got to where i am had a hugo 2 in between before getting tt2 recently.

Certainly not Humble, some very nice kit there which I am sure sounds great, happy listening. Where's the Vinyl though.
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
