Don't know why I'm smiling, as static jokes go that was truly shocking. If you see a Whitesides car pull up outside, it's because someone shouted 'Taxi for Neil'

I have a second one i bought for spares, its perfect but the auto returns is not functioning which is odd being mechanical. Auto return is a very important facility for me as i primarily use a TT for 12" singles & like fuc am i jumping up out the seat every time a record side finishes, too bone idle plus i get paranoid about my styli on the run out with manuals, i leave that shit to dopey Audiophiles . Might spend a day trying to sort it tossmorrow.

I loved my Thorens that lifted the arm and stopped turning at the end of the side, think it was a TD145 (in an aluminium plinth, very smart). Wish I'd never sold it.
