    Default Counterpoint SA-3.1 Tube preamp

Does anyone have any experience with the above pre ? It appears to be a very well regarded tube pre albeit from mainly across the pond . I have been offered one .

Had a couple on demo back in the day. At the time, they were pretty good but what I can remember is that they were noisy and very microphonic.

a very few of the 80s US tube preamps would pass a test today. noisy, colored, non transpared. a home check is essential.
