Default Hello, I'm new here, nice to meet you all

I am an old balding male who enjoys listening to music and lives in Niedersachsen, Germany. At present I am avoiding shaking hands with people (Virus scare), but hope to electronically shake hands and say hello to the Art of Sound community.
Why have I signed on to Art of Sound, very easy! I have just bought a Caiman SEG from Stan Beresford and want to share my experiences in the forum that is interested in his excellent products.
I have owned many pieces of hifi (far too many) in the last 40 years and go through various phases of being interested in buying new things to times when I don't read any thing about audio and just enjoy my music collection. At present I am thinking how best to move into the world of digital storage of my CD and record collection and streaming.
My LP collection is predominantly from my youth, up to 25, and thus now do not get listened to very often as I am getting too old for punk and reggae. I did go and see Toots and the Maytals live in Berlin in 2018 (great! how does he still do it?) and The Selector in Hannover (how does Pauline Black keep doing it?)
I mainly listen to CDs now, americana, country and western pre-1990, female vocalists usch as the McGarrigle sisters (who??!!) and occasionally classical when I am reading a book.
I wrote reams on my hifi system and old hifi gear 30 minutes ago but it somehow got lost before I could post. This is the 2nd attempt.

    LP12 (used very occasionally)
Musical Fidelity a1 CD pro (used a lot)
Beresford Caiman SEG (new to the system)
Humble-hifi speakers built by Tony Gee in Holland.

I will post more if this gets saved successfully.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Welcome Paul, so glad I read your intro as I now have a Beresford Caiman on my list of possible DAC/Pre amps.

From my limited exploring so far I'd nearly settled on a Pro-ject S2+ unit, but now I've another serious contender.

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
