New cases creeping up again... I've seen that happen before in Wales, then drop back down to precious levels, so hopefully just a spike.

Today in the UK (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below) https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/:

Positive tests: 30,144 (32,651).

Deaths: 164 (178).

Hospitalisations: 932 (909).

So both new cases and hospitalisations have continued to fall over a 7-day period. Let's hope that continues. Deaths remain stable.

Positive tests: 29.612 (30.144).

Deaths: 56 (164).

Hospitalisations: 932 (909).

The figure for hospitalisations hasn't been updated from the 14th September, hence stays the same. The other figures are probably lower because it's a Sunday, so we'll see where we are tomorrow, and notably Tuesday.

What's interesting though, is if you look at where things stood last Sunday (with previous day's figures in brackets)....

Positive tests: 29,173 (29,547).

Deaths: 56 (156).

Hospitalisations: 1073 (1063).

Pretty similar to today, but with less hospitalisations. I guess there's one thing you can say, at least for now, is that the situation isn't getting worse (in England)!

In Wales today (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

New cases: 2717 (2618).

Deaths: 15 (8).

Small rise in cases and deaths, but nothing major.

Points taken mate, and no doubt valid, but regardless, it's been a while since new cases have been under the 3k mark in Scotland. I bet the figure was higher last Monday, with similar caveats

Anyway, we'll see how things stand later today...

Yesterday in the UK (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below) https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/:

Positive tests: 36,000 (29,612).

Deaths: 49 (56).

Hospitalisations: 930 (932).

New cases a little up, but that'll only be because the previous figures were taken on a Sunday. I wouldn't expect today's figures later to be much higher, if at all, as there's still been a downwards trend in general over the last 7 days.

Interestingly, deaths still remain lower than normal, so I'd expect that to rise a little today, with the usual catch up in data. And hospitalisations are also down over the last 7 days. I wouldn't expect to see too much of an increase today. and hope that we can see figures remaining below the 1000 threshold, and much lower soon.

New cases: 2576 (2717).

Deaths: 7 (15).

So things remain stable here, too. We'll see how the stats look later.
