Yes 'The Government' with a wave of its magic wand could solve all our problems. The only reason they don't is because they're bastards.

They could adopt a policy of taking action to stop all preventable deaths by any cause. It would mean bringing the world to a halt and everyone stopping alone in their bedrooms forever. Even then some people will still manage die by some avoidable manner, electrocuting themselves or starting a fire or something.

Taken to its logical conclusion it makes no sense whatsoever. Life is full of risks, we take our chances.

    Not good enough Macca

I count on retiring and getting back what I payed for for a long long time
I have taken plenty of chances and it was my choice to do silly thing's from jumping from perfectly safe planes going spear fishing when it is really dark or riding a widow maker ( the K triple) or working for the Italian Mafia not counting playing whit electricity day in and out or working 40 meters of the ground and having loads of pussy since a tender age.

I know pretty well how to shift the odds and so far I been lucky and if I go I want to go whit a pretty loud bang

Is not only the Fauci virus and the current situation that worries me I just came back from a Trashco petrol pump Diesel at over £1.34 a litre FFS
And It worries me Martin not because of the "bastards" and so on but because of the attitude, man up and keep calm, you seems to say...

Pretty much. I don't see the point of worrying about anything I have no control over. I never watch the news, I pretty much avoid all news media. There's nothing you can do with the information they provide, most of which is probably inaccurate anyway. It's a strategy I highly recommend.

One of my neighbours has all sorts of immediate problems in his life and yet he gets really angry about Putin. It's not a healthy way to be.

Many years ago I used to regularly buy "Private Eye" - very funny in parts, but the insights in to self serving corrupt bastards in power used to really annoy me. I used to get angry about a system, and abusers, over which I had no control.

    State of play today... https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/

Deaths and hospitalisations down again to 140 and 818 respectively (from previously 149 and 859). However, as expected, new cases/infections are continuing to rise, which I suspect will be the case (no pun intended) for a while to come, and rising to 38,281 (the highest since Feb) from yesterday's 35,847.

We'll see what tomorrow brings, but I'd expect much of the same. As Sandro says though, it does ably highlight how being vaccinated does next to fook all, in terms of stopping the SPREAD of the virus, which of course makes a mockery out of the efficacy of 'vaccine passports', or any other nonsense of that ilk, doing anything to protect the vaccinated from the non-vaccinated

Thank goodness they were largely defeated by people power, as they were really only about discrimination and control!

However, the flip side is that vaccines seem to be stopping people from dying and/or becoming hospitalised, as whatever way you cut it, considering the prevalence of the virus currently among the population, it's not making many people seriously ill, which of course is a good thing.

That said, and indeed as Sandro correctly states, there are many other things you can do, *on top of* being vaccinated (as outlined - basically eating healthily and boosting your immune system with the required vitamins), to help you be more resilient to Covid-19, which of course the fat cats make fuck all money from!

    More tomorrow

New infections in Wales are also up from 1705 (yesterday) to today's 2389, but deaths are down from 4, to 1. Not sure about the stats in N. Ireland, but it seems like Wales (and especially North Wales) is currently the safest place to be in the UK

I wonder if that's got anything to do with face masks still being mandatory in many public places? Mmm...

Based on the reported stats mate, it seems to be. Has compulsory mask-wearing in public places been dropped in Scotland? I've not been following things that closely up there
