At least two of the concerts held recently have been super spreading events. One of them took no precautions at all and accepted everyone who 'said' they were safe.

a new high for us up here... A total of 5,021 new cases of the virus were reported on Wednesday, a record high for the second day running.

That was up from 4,323 in the previous 24 hours - although the rate of positive results being returned was down from 14.5% to 11%.

    5 new deaths.

Scotland's defo seeing a spike mate, like you say, especially in the west. I'm sure it'll peter out soon enough, though

    Today's scene elsewhere: https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/

Deaths are down to 149 (from yesterday's 174). Hospitalisations are up 1 to 859, but new infections are up to 35,847 (from yesterday's 30,838). Therefore, infections are clearly on the rise throughout the UK. Even in Wales they're up to 1705 (from yesterday's 1383), with 4 reported deaths.

I'm sure that the surge is down to some of the reasons mentioned, and so will reduce in due course. As I said, we're in the middle of an up and down cycle, so simply have to wait until things level off and start on a downward trend.

The good news is that, so far, the surge in new infections isn't having a massive impact on hospitalisations or deaths, and which means that things are still under control. However, we all want to see infection rates reducing as soon as possible.

Yes, still too high, so we're far from over this yet, but not out of control, so for now at least, that's good news

The good news (so far) is that although there's been a general increase in all stats recently, things are getting out of control.

ha...you spotted it too Gary...I should have guessed it was aren't and not are...or perhaps as you say..the word not inserted between are..and getting...Personally, I think the young ones, are out of control..the majority of them don't give a flying fuck. They are lunatics. Night clubbing, raves, big parties, huge gatherings..yesterday, at South Shields, there was thousands of people on the beach, packed, like sardines...

Yes I remember the times when "we where 16 and where immortal"

The fact that the government, like Pilato, washed it's hands of it by telling all that we have to be sensible about it does not help

Over 100 or whatever deaths daily is just routine news and get much less air time than a crash on the motorway or same far away shooting

A single death from Covid is one to many
People in Liverpool issued with a warning from public health boss (msn.com)

Another boffin telling you to get the vaccine, fair enough, but clearly the vaccine does not work as it has been proven in stopping the spread, gogle up Vaccinated people viral load, but again and again no one is telling you to look after yourself by taking vitamins to boost the immune system The MHRA approves another really expensive drug for the treatment whit far less evidence than that of things like Ivermectin

If you think that we are't fukkered try to get an appointment whit a doctor for things like hi blood pressure for example
