It’s not the 0-60 time that’s probably the most fun, it’s the in gear acceleration for overtaking!

I’m not too far from Wrexham....

I’m an old petrol head too, addicted to Castrol R. Motorbikes first that teaches you to treat other road users as assassins, spent a while in hospital, released from hospital with right leg in full plaster. You can ride a motorcycle like this.......lol.

I too raced karts, still have the lap record at Brands Hatch for Class IV karts ( they no longer have this class )

Went on to race Simca Rally II’s for the factory team.

I think if you’ve never ridden a high powered motorcycle or car on today’s roads and tracks with all your dangers listed, and have spent your driving experience in a modern box, it may create an impossibility in the imagination that to safely exploit this performance doesn’t compute.

There are massive risks in driving today for anyone. We all have certain reaction times and threat awareness.

It is great fun, and a thrill.....I love it

Still must be great fun to burn off just about everything out there Cars these days increasingly do the driving for you it seems, Gary's motor must be a refreshing change

The same as the dictionary definition 'alert to injustice in society, especially racism'

The thing is, almost everyone knows racism is wrong, sexism is wrong, and no-one likes injustice. Now you might have a few people who don't think racism is wrong or sexism is wrong, but they're not going to change their minds about it because they are harangued by some shrill, middle-class lefty who is so deluded with a sense of their own self importance that they think it is their calling to change the world.

And the rest of us are sick of being lectured about it. It's patronising and annoying.

And injustice, like the poor, will always be with us. The idea that you can somehow use legislation to create a perfect world with no injustice and where everyone is always pleasant to each other is risible. It's a childish fantasy and it does more harm than good. In fact it doesn't do any good at all.

only way to cure that kind of thing, is for it to be educated into people at a young age. people are not born with a colour bar, its given to them via parents, teachers and their peers, who got it from their parents, teachers and peers. you need to break that link, but without the constant harping and the 'all white folk are racists' stuff, which just angers the people who didnt have an issue with it before.
It is a long term thing tho. it wont change quickly. these things, like religion are deeply ingrained in societies and religions, not just people.

and to be clear, black people can be racist too, as can any colour or creed.

A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

That's what I used to love about all my Saabs; the midrange acceleration was incredible, in fact my 9000 CSE 2.3 HPT (which had had some mods, although I've no idea what) would pull so hard that it was possible to induce wheel-spin at 40mph in 3rd with full throttle applied. Laugh a minute that car, and yet a brilliant continental cruiser at all other times.
