Bloke I occasionally work with got it in January too. He's only in his 40s, but said it was the worst time of his life. Said it felt like he was constantly breathing smoke (not fag smoke, more like house fire smoke) and it scared the shit out of him.

Surely your outlook must be something similar? I don't know of anyone who's 'proud to be a sheep'

No, me neither. But I'll admit that my having the vaccine is to a degree a selfish decision - I'm happy with my own company some of the time, but really thrive on interacting with others in person. And I see the vaccine as a way to bring us back to 'normality' a bit sooner. I've never been what you might call 'risk averse', and am prepared vaccine-wise, to risk it for a biscuit

I'm expecting my second jab to come along by about mid-May. Bring it on!

That's a reasonable analogy. It's a weird feeling when you're breathing and realise it's not working.

Whooping cough nearly killed me when I was a kid and that had a similar effect.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Lol - and may it all go well when the time comes. I'm not saying for definite I won't be having one. I just want to see how things pan out over the next year, not just in terms of the virulent effect of Covid, and how much of a danger it will present to us then, but how the world has evolved in totality, post pandemic.

Plus also to monitor the various side-effects (although so far thankfully minimal) of the available vaccines, some of which have been reported, and we understand their full effect, based on a significant percentage of the populous having acted as test subjects over an extended period (or if vaccines become modified or improved), so that if/when I do have one, I can choose the one *I* think is best/safest, which by then may be an option

Even with much more mundane things, involving 'new tech', such as TVs, cars or whatever. I never 'jump straight in' until the tech in question had 'matured' [any problems ironed out], and *I* am satisfied it's the right time to 'invest' - and for me the principle is similar with these new vaccines.

Not really a valid analogy, vaccines are not new technology.

It's like your favourite band brings out a new CD. The album is brand new, the technology of the CD is decades old.

A better analogy would be you don't want to buy the new album yet until you've heard it at a mate's house and know it's not crap.

Sure, hence why I placed the key words inside inverted commas, but you get my point. I son't rush into *anything*, receiving vaccines or otherwise, until *I* (no-one else) am as convinced as humanly possible that it's the RIGHT thing to do

The fact is, we'll know both rather more about Covid and vaccines in 12 months time than we do now.
