I'll come back to you when I'm 80!

Well I shall be going out every day to shop locally for fresh food, as well as to get some exercise (it's only a fifteen minute walk). As you say, supermarket deliveries should only be reserved for those who have mobility problems.

I have no problems in getting shopping done in our local butcher, greengrocer or supermarket.

We have no shops locally, the one that was here closed down some time ago. A local shop here is a ten minute drive away and it’s a huge supermarket where 1000s flock to. Not great for stopping a virus spreading, or exercise for that matter.

Not everyone has the same local services.

There’s one, but it sells only meat. Nearest one aside from that is further than the supermarket. Where I live is all nice houses, and a pub that’s closed currently.

You must live well into the country. We live on the edge of our village, so can see green fields and go for country walks if we want to. But also have most things we need in the village, fifteen minutes walk away (or five minutes drive): doctor's surgery; chemist; hairdressers; beauty salon; car servicing and MOT centre; a newsagent; a Post Office; library; florist; radio and TV shop, etc., etc. (Oh, and an undertaker.)

Plus, I should have added I'm retired, so have the time to do such things.

More deliveries to customers homes, means less customers to spread the virus in the supermarket. Seems simple to me.

Pretty much the same here, Barry. living on the outskirts of the biggest town in North Wales, and which should've won city status years ago, if it weren't for English bias awarding it instead to surrounding English towns of a similar size!

Country walks are a short drive away, but then you're *really* out in the sticks, but a beautifully kept park is only minutes away, so currently our walks are done there

Shop-wise though, pretty much everything is on our doorstep, from every major supermarket (and high-street bank) being represented, to many small family-run businesses, and various farm shops within a ten minute drive....

For me, as long as you have access to a car, travelling a reasonable distance locally, if necessary, in order to obtain quality produce, and getting out and about, is far preferable to being cooped up indoors clicking a mouse - even in the current climate (as food shopping is considered as an essential activity).

However, each to his or her own
