The only way I could see it affecting deliveries is the increased usage limiting slots, but that's a different thing from their being an *actual* shortage of food, which there wasn't - and there won't be this time either.
In any case, it's ALWAYS a good idea to keep some sort of 'larder' at home, full of essentials, to keep you going in an emergency. One of the best things we ever did though, and we had no idea at the time just how handy it was going to be, was signing up for milk and grocery deliveries from a local dairy - as they sell and deliver all sorts of stuff.
It pretty much means that, along with our own stocks, unless the supply source of the dairy were affected, we'd never run out of food or essentials
