As for Vitamin D, I get that naturally from the foods I eat, including fruit such as bananas, plus fresh orange juice, and all the (hot and frothy) cow's milk I have in my milky coffees!

Yeah, cooked breakfast is just the best When I used to do archery competitions and would be out all day, I always started out with a "Full English", and it kept me going like toast or crassonts never could...

Dear oh dear, daftee... I thought you were more observant than that... I'm not Scottish. I was born there, and am proud of my Scottish roots, but I'm Italian. Scottish nationality, Italian ethnicity - learn that and remember it in future!

Pretty much the whole of my family tree is Italian.

And, as far as my eating habits are concerned, they're pretty much 100% 'European' (mainly Italian/French). I don't really have a British (or Scottish) palate, in that respect, although there are a few Scottish 'delicacies' I like such as Lorne sausage and GOOD haggis)

    Brookfield estate, Preston.

Pretty much dragged myself up, from about the age of 7. Mum and dad provided the essentials of course, and we always had a good Christmas. But after dad buggered off and mum had a breakdown which put her in a mental hospital for a couple of months, we were too poor for cereal so had broken up pieces of bread with milk and sugar. 'Pobs' we called them.

When I was 11, I went on a school holiday to Newlands Youth Hostel near Keswick. My mum had saved 10 shillings a week to get the £7 10 shillings cost together. Each morning you could either have porridge, or what I later came to call 'spoilt brat' cereal (rice krispies etc.) most kids chose the cereals, leaving me to enjoy as much porridge as I could fit in. Liked it ever since.

    Well you did ask

Yes - but no-one consumes dry corn flakes, whereas many do without additional fruit etc. Anyway, it is only now that Kelloggs have doubled the vitamin D content of their cornflakes to provide half the RI.

I know all that, you've told us often enough My comment about dog-born-in-stable alludes to that, so it's your observation skills that need sharpening
