Yes, I always found that to be the case too.

Re newspapers - as usual Yes Minister provides all the answers:

    James Hacker:
I know exactly who reads the papers. The Daily Mirror is read by people who think they run the country. The Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country. The Times is read by people who actually do run the country. The Daily Mail is read by the wives of the people who run the country. The Financial Times is read by people who own the country. The Morning Star is read by the people who think the country should be run by another country. And the Daily Telegraph is read by people who think it is.

    Sir Humphrey Appleby:
Prime Minister, what about the people who read the Sun?

    Bernard Woolley:

The Sun readers don't care who runs the country, as long as she's got big tits
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

I was photographer for our College magazine. We called ourselves The Hacks.

Familiar with dirty tricks like "The Frankenstein Flash".

The idea to make political opponents look bad, you turned the camera and flash upside down.

It made them look like Boris Karloff, black under the eyes, and extremely sinister.

We also published filthy poetry and attributed it to the Chairman of the College Conservative Party. Godfrey Rock.

    A poem by Godfrey Rock.

"The sexual life of the Camel
    Is stranger than Anyone Thinks
On the banks of the Nile
By the light of the moon
It sneaks up and buggers the Sphinx"

Everybody thought Godfrey was an oddball after that.

I don't know how we got away with it.

I didn't realise anybody who could read bought The Sun.

I haven't read a newspaper in about 15 years... And even then it was usually just the sports pages!

Best way to divorce yourself from the brainwash - that and watching the minimal amount of mainstream news on TV.

The Sun is a superb newspaper.

I always buy it on Saturday, because the Sports section is just the best.

I throw away the Telly guide, because I am more Radio.

It takes 5 minutes to read, except for the Horse-racing pullout which repays hours of my study.

Traditionally, as a Sun reader, you need a reading age of 11 and 1100 words in your vocabulary.

But it's cheap too. 85p? What's not to like?

You tell me about Hillsborough. I'm not sure. But like most of us, I was watching and bewildered. Was it Forest they were playing?

I nearly got killed by the Liverpool supporters at Arsenal Clock End back in the Eighties.

Got into the away end and then those Scousers just pushed us into the stanchions and fence.

Nothing against Liverpool. A team I have always enjoyed watching. But the supporters are a rough bunch.
