Also, how long have these restrictions, with Covid, been imposed upon you, and remind me again of what exactly they are... So you're not allowed to go anywhere at all and have been forced to become a prisoner in your own home - is that what you're saying?

    Marco.
No, I'm not a prisoner in my own home, I still have to go to work, but since 7th August Preston residents cannot see others in their house or garden, even if the others are in or from an unaffected area. Nor can different households mix in indoor venues. All my friends and family live in Preston or Scotland so no socialising going on there.

I did call at a friend's house last month, with a clip board and tape measure, on the pretext of surveying for a replacement door, as going into another's house is ok if work-related. When he came to the door he looked up and down the street to check for prying eyes before letting me in. Much like a bored housewife admitting her gentleman caller, having put a box of OMO washing powder in the window. Pathetic!

This is how it has been for the last two months, hence my work-telly-sleep-work comment. But as I have said numerous times, some have it much worse. Still gets me down sometimes though, and makes me less tolerant of what appear to be insensitive comments. Still love you though!

how does this happen? i mean really shocking lack of care....

Used coronavirus swab tests were accidentally given out to households in Birmingham, council officials said.

Birmingham City Council said about 25 kits had been given out by mistake in the student area of Selly Oak as part of its "drop-and-collect" service.

It said the error was quickly realised, the kits remained intact and there was no evidence of cross-contamination.

However, student David Lewes, 21, said he and four housemates used the tests without realising they were not new.

"We are really distressed, shocked, violated and one of my friends threw up after finding out they had been used before," he said.

The "crash for cash" lawyers will be waiting to see if David Lewes contracts Covid. They've probably already contacted him, told him to self-isolate, to strengthen his case
