pubs and cafes will be closed in central belt up here.. other areas will close at 6pm... well that will be final nail in most of the places coffins i guess. the sturgeon hates pubs and drinkers anyway i think.
is it nesessary?? not sure it is... they are finding lots of covid of course but is it because they are testing more? be interested to know... doesnt affect me anyway as i dont go out but feel for many cafes and such like

The new rules affect over half the population, and I would expect a lot of bars and restaurants not too reopen after this.

So do they have a crystal ball, and are therefore able to see ahead in three weeks time that the current situation will still exist? How do they know that by then Covid case rates may have notably fallen, and therefore they'd be able to REDUCE restrictions, and such ridiculous impositions on people's freedoms?

Seems to me that the government much prefer using the stick than the carrot....!

But what do you expect when they've been told that they can socialise (within current rules), just to stay indoors and behave like monks? No chance. Even I haven't been doing that. I still want, and indeed insist upon, a social life! And even more so, Del.

Yes, I'll be careful and considerate when I'm out, and observe the rules, but I'm still going to enjoy myself, because I have a life and am not a freaking hermit

Also, what do you expect people to do when a) they're continually given confusing mixed messages from the government, and most importantly b) see government officials, especially idiots like Margaret Ferrier, showing complete arrogant contempt/disregard for the rules and just doing what they like?

That's not a responsible example to set! So folks are just going to say 'Fuck it, if you can break the rules, then so can I'...

Therefore, if you want to blame anyone for the current rise is cases and spreading of the virus, then blame the bloody government for acting like cocks and showing zero leadership skills!
