The thing they are not telling us is that everyone who dies of Covid19 comes back as a flesh-eating zombie. The quick ones too, not those slow ones that are just a bit of a laugh really.

    You heard it hear first.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

In situations like this the Gov need to realise that people of this country are just not getting paid enough to have plenty money in the bank, i think they are oblivious to how many are actually living hand to mouth. They are simple not gonna stay off work.

I dropped off some some bog rolls & bits at my mothers yesterday... Had to plonk them on the doorstep, Phone her so so could open the door & take them in being in her 70's. Be interesting to know how people will act on Mothers day. I will just do the same, Flowers & a card on the doorstep.
I *totally* get where you're coming from, dude, and equally fully understand. However, in terms of the bit in bold, it really, REALLY shouldn't.... The bottom line is, what good is money if you're DEAD? Will you be caring about paying your rent or mortgage when you're six-foot under? Of course not!

No, this is the time to behave sensibly and for landlords and lenders to be sympathetic towards the situation we're currently in, and allow folks some leeway, in terms of paying their bills. In that respect, it was announced yesterday that mortgage lenders will be giving their customers a three-month payment holiday, in order to (hopefully) see them through this crisis. And I'd expect the likes of energy suppliers and phone companies, etc, to do similar, if you TALK to them. They'll be well aware of the situation and why you may be in temporary financial difficulty, and no doubt would be willing to help.

Similarly, therefore, understanding landlords (ones who realise that they won't get blood out of a stone), and particularly those you've established a good rapport with as being a good payer in the past), need to give their tenants some leeway, and allow them to pay what they can afford (even if for now it's just a statutory sick pay payment), until they're in a position to return to work and earn their usual wage.

Now of course I realise that won't be possible in every situation, for a whole host of reasons, but it's an attitude that needs to be taken and rolled out by any landlord, lender or employer who could afford to absorb a temporary loss in income, in order to allow their tenants, staff or customers to self-isolate and stay safe. As a society, right now, we need to start PULLING TOGETHER and HELPING each other, not simply seeking to look after No1, as the latter is NOT conducive to solving this crisis.

Plus, and I'm going to be blunt here, although no offence is meant, but more of us these days, where possible, need to put money aside for emergencies, exactly such as this, instead of spending every penny we earn and maxing out our credit cards! I'm always saying 'live for the moment', and that's important, but you also have to plan for the future, to *some* degree. So maybe if we hadn't spent thousands of pounds on endless amounts of hi-fi equipment, huge flatscreen TVs, CDs or LPs, etc, etc, etc, over the years, we'd have some money in the bank now to see us through this crisis?

We're all guilty of frittering our money away on 'unnecessary luxuries', when we think we're flush, and of course you've got to live life and have some fun. However, sometimes it also pays to be sensible (and a little more frugal), as life has a bad habit of kicking us in the teeth... So perhaps when this pandemic is over, it'll teach folks to save a bit more in future! Just sayin...

    Marco.

    Hey Marco,
Feelin’ much the same, a wee bit flu-ey but actually ok, felt a lot worse.

Got up this morning and it kinda dawned on me what was going on, stuck in the house and no work to go to.
Rather be at my work, and appreciate I’m one of the lucky ones who can be off and still get paid.

Plenty to keep me going here though, so all good.
    Thanks for asking mate.

Glad you're not too badly afflicted.

Good stuff mate, and no problem. I'm always concerned about the health of folks I know, and right now of our members in general. As you say, you're being paid and I'm sure you'll have a few things to do to pass your time!
