The trouble with these things is they are so one-sided. Why doesn't he question some of the assumptions made and point out some of the errors of fact? Other medical services and hospital admissions for non-covid were not suspended during lockdown but the claim goes unchallenged. Also it isn't true that 80% of people tested are asymptomatic.

Why did deaths increase after lockdown? Because it takes time after catching it for it to kill you. 14-21 days. And the fact that the spike in deaths immediately following lockdown was followed by a gradual decrease in deaths (as you'd expect) is not mentioned at all. Presumably because it blows the theory out of the water.

The theory also makes the common but naïve assumption that 'the media' are told what to print/publish when the reality is they will print/publish whatever will get the most hits/readers and the only control the government have over that is that they can prevent publication in extreme circumstances.

Bad news gets a lot more hits which is why the media mainly run with bad news even if they have to make it up or embellish it. No-one would buy a newspaper or click on a story with the headline 'Things are, in general, going pretty well. Don't worry and enjoy your life.'

I got swine flu back about 10 yrs ago and it left my lungs scarred to buggery. I struggle with breath most days, which is getting worse due to not getting out. I also now have asthma which i never had... So, yes it can screw your future life up, and i guess this one is worse...

Coincidentally, there's an article on exactly this on BBC News right now.

The effects sound just like those suffered by older heavy smokers, you don't see any old boys walking slowly and stopping for breath now and then any more. Used to be pretty common.
