The fact is, the virus is still with is [will likely ALWAYS be with us in some form], so we just need to learn to live with it, without every time there's a spike in infections going 'OMG, we're all doomed!!'

If the vaccines are genuinely effective against most variants (and being modified accordingly to tackle new ones), which is what's purported to be the case, then increased infection rates shouldn't lead to mass hospitalisations, as was the case before, and therefore it's NOT a major issue! We just manage it, like we do flu.

Focusing on or worrying about infection rates is simply what the media want you to do, as it keeps them in a job! So, if you've been vaccinated, just get on with your life as best as you can, and worry not about what you can't change. Tomorrow, you might get knocked down by a bus Let's hope not, though.

But seriously, if the vaccines do what they're supposed to do (and current evidence indicates that's the case, as very few people are dying), then we need to stop fretting about bloody Covid and continue on the road back to normal life, or as normal as it can be, otherwise when will it all end?

My opinion is that the COVID-19 is not any more virulent than ‘flu, and as ‘flu reporting isn’t ...kinda reported, what we are left with is a bogus COVID-19 report that has assimilated ‘flu. Any thought that mask wearing has somehow stopped the ‘flu virus is laughable!
What if the vaccine is a hoax? The reported statistics being manipulated to present a picture of vaccines efficacy.

We have had hilarious propaganda like “stay at home (to prevent getting the virus) but open your windows and doors to let the virus out”. Presumably to get other people infected?

We have the inside outside saga for drinks and food.

We have the mask on mask off farce.

I forgot about the mouth mask and the chin mask.

Supermarkets open so we can all mingle freely pretending to wear masks correctly, some people wearing visors, and of course social distancing was always observed. Food handled by multiple shoppers, then handed to checkout staff. Home delivery that has gone through picking, packing, delivery god knows how many souls could have coughed, sneezed etc on its way to you.

Well, we've been here before., and I wouldn't discount your theory. However, aside from an increase in infections with the 'new variant', in certain parts of the country, the figures (importantly the death ones) are heading in the right direction, so *for now*, let's give them the benefit of the doubt and attribute it largely to the efficacy of the vaccines, and see where we are in a few months time!
