Always good to hear of folks close to home getting their jabs and protection. Both my parents had theirs in the last few weeks too.
One of these days... I'm going to cut you into little pieces.

It is good that vulnerable people are being vaccinated, however, there are front line workers, who are not getting it quickly enough..Police,..and before someone starts up about the police, I'm no real fan either and my future son in-law is a copper, but we need law and order and these, are the best we've got, so give them a bit skinch... teachers and fire service should be up there too...I understand they are being brought to the fore..but it's at a very slow pace..imho....The young'un says April before the cops get a look in..although he tells me they are contacted occasionally when there are no shows...

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

That's no excuse - I've never had the clap, not even once, but I'm aware of the term, through the power of hearing, and my ability to read

Only one jag in 50-odd years, have you never had a tetanus jab? You really should have.

Lol... Nope, never needed one. I've really injured myself much (or broken any limbs/abused my body), as I've always been fairly risk averse when it comes to my health (hence my reticence in having this vaccine), and indeed health conscious, so the only jab, jag or prick I've had was a BCG one (for TB) when I was 15...

Certainly hasn't done me any harm, as I could scarcely be healthier, physically or mentally - or for that matter, dafter!

Abused your body? Why on earth would you say that? What did you have in mind? So, no broken bones, no fighting, no stitches? Did you ever leave the house? Thinking back on my life, with the motorbikes, swimming in rivers, silly stunts on buildings and scaffolds as a kid I should be dead several times over

But the worst was when I was 12, and a tunnel I was digging collapsed on me, but I managed to pull myself out. A week later the same tunnel did the same to my friend, who didn't survive. That was a bad time, his mum and dad never got over it.

I'll stop now as I'm getting a bit dark, probably due to a good friend passing on Monday.

Exactly what you've mentioned! A few fights in school, but I usually won (as I was bigger and stronger than most), so others invariably came off worst

But nope, never needed stitches or broken any bones... Largely always been careful with my body, plus being an only child from Italian parents, who by tradition are *very* protective, up until I was about 14, I wasn't much out of my parents' sight. who always wanted to know where I was, who I was with and what I was doing, and I was pretty obedient, as my dad was strict, so would've got belted for having got into any trouble!

From 15 into my 20s though, it was the opposite - I got up to all sorts!! But thankfully, largely avoided injuring myself, even falling off my motorbike a few times (stoned on mushies and goodness knows what else), plus a house roof!, just cuts and bruises. Lucky, yes, but I was generally pretty careful, at least when I wasn't under the influence of any substances!

Yup, no doubt mate, and sorry to hear that, and also about your friend who's passed away. Just makes you realise how precious life is, and how much we need to make the most of it and the time we spend with our friends and loved ones.
