Depends how safe you want to be. I wouldn't do it, but then I don't eat 'fast food' or takeaways anyway, their hygiene standards tend to fall short of mine.

I suppose the heat will kill it on the containers ? The restaurant we go to is always spotlessly clean as are the staff, so I might give it a go - just once.

We are desperate for a Curry but not sure if it's possible to get the virus from a takeaway, if we observe strict distancing rules ? I'm not really comfortable with the thought of it but might be worrying too much.

I'd follow Macca's advice, in that respect, Dave. We've had about four takeaways, Chinese and Indian, so far during the lockdown, and have lived to tell the tale! Not an issue, really, just use the same places you did (and liked) before all this happened - if they're still trading!

My missus likes to buy big ham joints and boil them herself the ham is marvelous.

That's what we do. Not only does it taste much better than the packaged slices - it is cheaper too!

When we order the food online from the website of the takeaway restaurant concerned, we know exactly how much it comes to, so we leave the money for the driver in the wooden box outside our door (normally reserved for empty milk bottles), and they pop the carrier bag of food inside the box, then knock the door to say they've been (if we don't hear the car coming up the driveway first), and once they've gone, we get our food.

Zero interaction with a human. Then we follow the usual guidelines for washing hands, etc, and enjoy our meal. Job done!

It would be FAR more dangerous going out to a supermarket!

No interaction, he leaves it in the porch and beats a retreat. If it was a medical problem they'd have banned takeaway deliveries and they haven't. You're at far more risk going to the supermarket because your potentially exposed to far more people and you are handling items that many others may have touched.
