Yes, there are many good, dedicated members of our police force, keen to make a difference in the RIGHT way, for the greater good of society, but there are also a number of only-too-willing-to-become 'mini-Hitlers', who thrive on abusing their authority, and indeed take great delight in imposing their control upon people, and thus are using the opportunity that this pandemic has created to demonstrate their dictator-like tendencies!

This is where it's important that we, the people of the UK, don't allow this virus to become the very excuse that the authorities need to impose restrictions upon our longterm freedom, and which impinge on our basic HUMAN RIGHTS. Therefore, whilst I fully appreciate the need for monitoring and minimising the effect of this virus on our population, it MUST NOT be at the expense of *longterm* huge cost to our freedom!!

I, for one, will not allow myself to effectively be under house arrest forever, or live in a heavily-surveilled police state, controlled by the establishment, and would fight against that and protect my freedom and basic human rights, to the death!!

But yes, whatever anyone may have thought of Corbyn, he was clearly at heart a humanitarian and pacifist, important traits for any decent/well-adjusted human being to have, and which are clearly shared by his brother, who was part of the protest I linked to earlier.

Therefore, one wonders if Labour had won the election, and Corbyn had been PM, instead of dithering Boris, if he'd have allowed so many of our people to die unnecessarily from this virus, simply as a result of outrageous ineptitude and incompetence.

Dunno I've always leaned to the left, but only joined the Labour party to try and vote him out, quietly impressed by Kier so far as he takes Billy Bluster apart every Wednesday. Impossible to think how it might have turned if Jezzer was in charge but it doesn't really matter cos he wasn't.

The UK's response to Covid is directly at the feet of the conservative party both in the response and the preconditions due to austerity. absolutely criminal and even now it's so obvious how "scientific" advice is being presented to cover up party dogma and failings to the electorate at large.

It comes to something when that neo fascist rag called the Daily Mail starts running articles that slag the government.
