Yes, it's easy to be an outright cunt, and care not a jot, if you want. That's not the point.

My point is why say/do things that appear to be incompatible with your supposedly true self, which (apparently), in terms of covert fascist BJ-boy, is that of a libertarian? That was certainly the image he portrayed throughout his political life until now.

You only do that if you're a two-faced disingenuous bastard, which of course he is. A genuine person stays true to himself and his core values, and that defo ain't the bigoted covert fascist we're discussing!

So something that never happened and isn't going to happen but it's 'fascism'.

The problem with that word is that it has been used wrongly so often it's lost all meaning. Or rather the new meaning is 'someone who doesn't agree with me.'

I think the whole, hideous politically correct/ 'woke' agenda is far closer to fascism, and the Labour Party is inextricably bound up with that which is why I would never vote for them even though I agree with some of their ideas like re-nationalising water, power and rail.

I am not sure that Johnson has ever identified himself as a libertarian which is a very specific political ideology. He has always been a pragmatist in the true British tradition. That's one of the reasons I voted for him. God spare us from the idealists.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan

Well, I totally agree with you about the politically correct woke pish (with bells on)! Can't stand those greetin' wee shites!

However, if these 'Covid ID cards/vaccine certificates' *do* come into force (in some form or another), and I'm not convinced yet that they won't, or worse, are rolled out into other areas in future, then for me that WILL BE a form of fascist/totalitarian control (and if introduced only likely to get worse), which certainly isn't compatible with a) what the Tories supposedly stand for, or b) a democratic free country such as the UK.

Johnson may like to think he's a pragmatist, but until now also portrayed the image of laidback, easy-going hippy-type (albeit a toffee-nosed one), and which certainly doesn't fit with the authoritarian measures he's sought (or still seeking) to implement, in terms of the aforementioned ID cards, and with it the restricting of our freedoms.

And I'm afraid that anyone who seeks to remove people's freedoms (if it happens), completely unjustifiably in this instance, is the enemy of pro-civil liberties/human rights protagonists, such as others and me.

One thing's for sure, as much maligned as Corbyn was (some of it justified and some not), and who is a libertarian, if he had made it into Downing Street instead of BJ-boy, then 'ID cards' and other such affronts to our human rights would never even have been discussed!!

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Much appreciated, but you could have printed it a bit bigger - his eyesight isn't what it was you know. And you may scoff, but the future of Britain would be in safe hands with our offspring
