Doesn't apply though if England were the only home nation to qualify. When NI qualified as well there was just as much fuss over them as there was with England. And what about all the non-Italian people living in Italy? There must be a fair few. Don't they count?

Sorry, not even remotely so! You're obviously unaware of the reality because you don't bother listening to the 'chat'!

There's ALWAYS a media "fuss" over England, no matter where or when they're playing football, even in friendlies, which are televised live to a UK-wide audience - a luxury not afforded to Scotland, Wales or N.Ireland for their friendlies, and which instead are regional. The fact is, the coverage of sport (not just football) in the UK is heavily biased towards England, just like everything else, which is one of the many reasons why Scots want independence, to escape from such control!

And what about all the non-Italian people living in Italy? There must be a fair few. Don't they count?
Of course they do, but you're still missing the point. It's not about who was born or who comes from where, in terms of individuals; it's about catering for the needs of the NATION in question, as a WHOLE. In that respect, Italy is Italy, Germany is Germany, and France is France, etc.

However, Britain is NOT England. There are three other, equally important nations to consider, so the BRITISH (not English) broadcasting associations should accept that fact and make allowances for it, in order to ensure that their coverage of ALL sporting events, is carried out from a NEUTRAL and impartial perspective, not one biased towards England.

IMPARTIALITY is essentially the key point. The national broadcasters of ANY country, therefore (Italy or otherwise), have a duty to ensure that their TV coverage - of pretty much anything - is as impartial as possible, and that patently doesn't occur in the UK during the BBC's or ITV's national live coverage of World Cup football games.

Anyway, I think we should leave it there now, and just agree to disagree, otherwise we're in danger of creating a pointless circular argument, on a subject where, as a result of our respective nationalities, our views are largely incompatible.

    Well...fuck.

Just realised where Chorley services is, or rather which part of England?
Out n about yesterday, stopped off at the Whiz Palace there, mask on, straight in and out, hands cleansed and back to the car.

If I'd known it was in the "hot zone" of Lancashire (just, quite south) I'd have driven on.

Stopped off at a petrol station in Woking too, not the epicenter but they aren't doing too great either.
Again masked n hands sanitised afterwards.

Going to isolate for a bit, just in case.

To pick up a black box Marco,

Was going to sleep over somewhere halfway and drive back fresh in the morning, but decided against it as “halfway” was now in Covid lockdown!
6 1/2 hours Drive each way.

13 hrs in the car (before any delays) so a long day!
    M6 was a nightmare.

Must be off my head, but happy the jobs done.
