I think you will find he was given a free holiday at Xmas for himself and his family AFAIK to Barbados or some other exotic location, obviously he couldn't give a shit himself but I bet it was his family that insisted on going for the freebie, probably picked something up whilst over there.

I was a bit sad about Captain Sir Tom. We may never know how he caught the wretched Germ. Or whether the advice not to have a jab, because he was pretty frail already, was correct. But a true hero.

Long story short. If you react violently and with illness to jabs, it's OK. Means your body goes into overdrive to fight the Germ. A day in Bed feeling a bit rubbish is better than dying.

I get me first Jab in a Month. Oh Joy. I can then go to the Cinema and Footy games again.

I agree about the media Geoff, they just used him as a publicity stunt, as they often do when they want to push a certain agenda, i still feel that what he did, and the money he raised was very comendable, i just hope the funds went to the right people, where it could make a diffrence.

Yup, I agree with all the comments, and he had the time to achieve some good things, which as you say will hopefully have impacted positively around the world on the right people.

Let's not forget too, that at over 100 years old, he had a pretty good innings and would've gone sometime soon anyway. Often it's better living less long, but WELL (as in having achieved good things that made you happy, and making nice memories with your loved ones), than longer, but LESS WELL, and not having been as happy or fulfilled.

I know which I'd chose, and in that respect I'm sure that the last few months of his life were perhaps some of his happiest, where he managed to achieve things, such as being knighted by the Queen, he'd never have dreamed of. He certainly got to make his mark on the world in a positive way, which but for the pandemic wouldn't have been possible.

Just a positive take on things, on a lovely old man, the likes of whom we'll never see again. R.I.P Captain Tom
