What I have a BIG problem with isn't being spied upon or surveilled, but CONTROLLED, or worse, *enslaved* by the state, which is potentially one day where all this tech could lead to, IF abused by the relevant authorities.
Therefore, it's not being spied upon that's the problem, unless you're up to no good and have something to hide; it's what the plan ultimately is for all the spying.
I think what Gary was getting at, is the powers that be, through this technology, face recognition etc etc...means, they potentially, don't even have to get out of their seats to send you a £200.00 fine for not social distancing..as your face will be on a data base with all your details..allegedly
