When Trump does news conferences, you have to remember that his primary goal is to 'make headlines', preferably first and foremost about HIM, and so will often deliberately make provocative and/or controversial statements, designed to be, shall we say, 'a little ambiguous', in order to prompt a reaction from the public - and when he gets one, he LOVES it!! The bleach example was a classic.

Yes, the guy has a planet-sized ego, which I'm not a fan of either [along with other odious aspects of his character], but he is who he is. As I said before, I don't give a flying fuck what he says in the media, as long as he gets the job done he's been appointed to do, as outlined. And he *is* doing it.

As Oscar Wilde said: "There is only one thing in life worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about". Exactly Trump's mantra!

Yes I agree his words do matter and he's ill advised to make tongue in cheek comments - although I suspect no-one advises him at all anymore as he's just not interested in advice.

But this is another case of a criticism of Trump being almost as stupid as Trump. What gets me is that if you look at his record as President there are plenty of valid criticisms that can be made. Even allowing for the fact that the President is a glorified figurehead and has very little actual power.

But instead opponents tend to focus on this sort of thing. Is that due to sheer laziness? Or do they think that it plays better in the sticks than a considered and evidential analysis would? If it's the latter than I'd suggest that it's about the same level Trump operates on.

As for 'removing' him - tried and failed. Don't forget the rules, he was democratically elected and so gets to serve 4 years. Election in November, the people get their say then. Or is it okay to just forget the rules if it's someone you don't like/don't agree with? We had the same thing with Brexit - forget the rules, I don't like it so even though we had a vote let's stop it anyway and fuck democracy. Very dangerous territory to enter. And massively counter-productive as events have subsequently shown.

Erm no... Remember the video posted earlier showing that the BBC 'selectively edited' his words out of context (as did many other media outlets, keen to discredit him? If you missed it, scroll back and have a look. 'HD Goofnut' posted it.

There are also other clips, all over the net, which portray events rather more accurately and show that that's NOT what he said.

And as far as removing him is concerned, remove away, once he's banged up more bad guys... Many more scum filth, like Epstein and Weinstein, are due to get their long overdue comeuppance VERY soon!

Whoever these mysterious geezers are who allegedly put Trump into power couldn't have made a worse choice. He doesn't understand the law, more specifically he doesn't understand the limitations of his Presidential powers, so he keeps saying he will do things which are not within his authority. He also seems unable to grasp the notion of the 'separation of powers', whereby politicians make laws, but the courts interpret those laws and make judgements, which at present are mostly unfavourable to Trump's wishes. This makes it highly unlikely that he'll be able to force multiple major prosecutions in the limited time he has left, unless he intends overthrowing the Constitution, ruling as a dictator and ordering courts to act as he directs.

Another problem is the federal prosecutor. As Berman refused to stand down as Public Prosecutor, Trump had to fire him, but a replacement can't just be slotted in; he/she has to be endorsed by the Senators for New York. Both are Democrats, and unlikely to simply rubber-stamp Berman's replacement. They will want to know why he was sacked, given that the Attorney-General said he had been doing a good job. (Trump has effectively washed his hands of the matter, saying it was all down to the Attorney-General). This will further delay any ongoing investigations.

No he isn't an idiot. He's just like pretty much all politicians in that he grew up in a wealthy bubble, has never had to spend a day in his life, and so never learned a bloody thing. It's interesting that the few politicians who don't come under that description don't tend to be successful in their attempt to rise to the top.
