The treatment is yet to go through crucial Phase 3 trials where it would be administered to thousands of people.

In other words, they don't know yet if it works or not and they don't know yet if it is safe or not. Not sure what 'approved' means in that context. Still, good news if it really does work.

And who's word would you trust on that as being gospel, before having it injected into your veins?

There's no way I'll be going near any vaccine that has been 'rushed through' for this virus. I'd top myself first! Especially as I'm entirely convinced that my immune system can cope (as it did last time) should I ever get it again.

British scientists can be 'adversely influenced' by controlling authorities, for whatever dubious reasons, the same as anyone else. Blindly believing that they, or anyone representing them, automatically have your best interests at heart, is both gullible and naive, and not really like you.

If we're talking about 'leaps of faith' therefore, I'd say that the biggest one was simply 'accepting' that any vaccine introduced now was 100% safe (nothing else will do) without adequate proof of such, and by that I mean tested and approved by independent, impartial experts.

Yes so do I. British independent impartial experts. Plenty of countries where they could cover up an unsafe vaccine, this is probably the least likely place where that could happen. Ultimately you're always playing the odds, so play the most favourable.

And by the same token, neither would any vaccine introduced now, so quickly (when we've never before been successfully able to create a vaccine for a form of Coronavirus, including the last one SARS), likely be EFFECTIVE, even if it is deemed as 'safe'. So if 'playing against the odds', I'll trust the effectiveness of my God-given immune system!

was listening to a chat show a little while ago, can't for the life of me remember who the two in question were, but the conversation went something like this;
Ohh, i am immune i have antibodies says the one being interviewed, so you have had a test, asks the interviewer, yes, came the reply, interviewer, ok, but haven’t we been told by the experts that any antibodies we might make naturally may only keep us safe for around three months, yes was the reply, Interviewer; ok, well when we actually get a vaccine, are we to expect a similar life time of immunisation as our own natural way of creating antibodies, yes, came the reply!
So my point is; What the hell good is a vaccine that only covers us for a three month period at a time!

Exactly! And if they tell you anything different, they're deluded, or lying simply to encourage you to have it. Like I said too, by now the virus will very likely have mutated into something else (a different strain), therefore vaccinating against the original one will be fruitless.

The reality is, we simply have to learn to live with this virus, and deal with it/take the necessary precautions, in the same way as any other mankind has faced, especially one (when properly controlled and managed) with a death rate arguably no higher than that of flu.

Under those circumstances therefore, IMO, any 'vaccine' that's been rushed through, in order to inoculate the population, simply stinks of an agenda.
