Microsoft says it has detected cyber-attacks from Russia and North Korea targeting seven companies involved in researching vaccines

and treatments for Covid-19.

The company’s vice-president, Tom Burt, said in a blog post that the targets included leading pharmaceutical companies and vaccine researchers in Canada, France, India, South Korea and the United States.

The attacks came from one group in Russia and two in North Korea.

The "majority" of these attacks were said to have been blocked and the companies informed.

It is not the first time that states have been accused of targeting vaccine work.

In July, the UK said Russian intelligence was behind the targeting of UK research, including on the Oxford vaccine.The US also accused China of similar activity.

All of this is part of a global race for a vaccine as countries seek advantage over each other.

In all seriousness though,the russians like most other countries must have some very clever people among the top scientists there, so why the need to copy everything from us and elsewhere, have we become so arogant to think the UK and USA have the only smart people on the planet ?

not enough to be smart you also have to have the knowledge. Almost all new pharmaceuticals are developed in Europe and the USA and 75% are manufactured in Europe. If you don't have those decades of background in the science and the infrastructure it's a lot quicker to steal the knowledge rather than start from scratch and develop it yourselves.

What's new? When I worked in polymer research a lot of time was spent reading patent abstracts for ideas.
The companies producing vaccines will, quite naturally, look at what other research scientists are doing - do people really believe only communist states are involved in this?

Indeed, although one should always be suspicious of sites that ask for donations, as their commercial interests are liable to skew the agenda

There's certainly nothing in there though that would encourage me any more to take the vaccine!

I have been following Dr Yeadon, and he seems genuinely concerned about it all.
Every day i wake i hope that someone will blow the lid of this whole afair, might not have to wait much longer when you see people like this and thousands of other doctors and scientist around the world condeming the whole thing!
