It's the sort of thing Governments tend to look at late in the second term when they've run out of ideas. they've got enough on the plate already. Once covid is over there's an economic hole to climb out of, plus it's Brexit in four weeks time.

The Honours system is rapidly heading towards disrepute. If they want to reverse the damage to the institution, they should give the NHS as a whole an honour.
