We've all had that terrible moment when the Jehovas witnesses have banged on our front door.

Personally I don't want to break their hearts. I try to let them down lightly.

I just accept their publications and send them on their unwitting ways.

But there is something to be said for GOOD versus EVIL:

    Cracking movie here:

Costs you nothing. Slow start, but warms up. Enjoy.

I have never been "at home" when Jehovah Witnesses call. You can usually see them in advance when they target your road - they are always neatly dressed and will often have a child in tow.

Of course if you do want to have a vigorous debate with them, you need only declare you are of a certain religious faith.

The ones who call round here (a mother and her son) are fine [not 'rabid' JH's, by any means]. I often invite them in for tea and cake. They know I'm a practicing Catholic, with slightly different views from them, but as we all believe in God, and are Christians, we have plenty in common, so the experience is always pleasant and often educational

    A priest, a pastor and a rabbit walk into a bloodbank. The rabbit says: "I think I'm a Type-O."

The hand-gel has mysteriously returned to our hallway! Obviously some doomed soul stricken by conscience.. .

Did anyone watch "Angel and the Badman"? It's based round bad Cowboys and virtuous Quakers.

I am struggling to understand which Coronavirus tier Pompey is in, but the Pubs are shut so I think we are top tier as ever.

That's the way it should be - I have never really understood how people get so 'argumentative" over faith issues, the end result is the same.

Indeed... I'm usually pleasant and welcoming towards those who call at my house. As they say, it's nice to be nice

Also, IMO, you can't criticise someone else's religious beliefs, or judge them against yours (if applicable), unless you know what they are.

Its when religion becomes politicised that conflicts arise, personal faith is exactly that, the individuals faith. Political faith especially as written into a states constitution is thankfully a thing of the past in the West, though that is being tested by immigration on an epic scale from less enlightened parts of the world, and we are seeing the beginnings of that battle being fought at the moment in France.
