That's life for you but even a youngster not used to digging would ache after five hours of digging. You have to build up to it.Gosh, feeling so tired today after the Astra vaccine yesterday.
Aches and pains as well, but I think that is because I spent four or five hours in the garden digging and planting new border yesterday.
I find it quite frustrating that I get so many aches now - when I was younger, I could do so much more without any consequences the following day

Different kind of aches when you get older Dave - younger folk get aches from untrained muscles, with us oldies it's more stiff back, ankles, wrists etc. Nice to reward yourself later with a Radox bath and some tunes.
