Today may have been my last visit to a farm shop. Mrs. p needed to get out of the house, so we had a lengthy shopping trip today (she stayed in the car while I went in with a list). Chicken fillets: farm shop £8.95/kg, Asian market £5.99/kg, Iceland £4.95/kg. And we probably burned a couple of quid's diesel driving out there.
Anita's been telling everyone about my shopping skills - she wanted fresh ginger, and I had to ask a fellow shopper because I didn't know what it looked like. She didn't say how much, so I got a pound. Well she should have said! Also I bought the worst two leeks she's ever seen. They looked fine to me, nice and leafy
Not sure whether these Asian supermarkets are run by Muslims, but the customers, although clearly Asian could have been Muslim or Hindu. And a couple were Sikh. No beef or beef products for sale, nor any pork/bacon, so I'd say they catered for all.
