Did my Tesco delivery order yesterday, but have to wait until Sunday week for it.

ive got meat in freezer etc... mostly meat and have some frozen ready meals coming from Donald Russell. not a big freezer and it will go up to capacity then i guess.. But I needed some veg and stock cubes etc for soup. milk for my coffee and cereal; that sort of thing.
found 2 ready meals that hadnt been snaffled , oh and 4 rolls of the elusive bog roll which are now mine

As I said, it needs to move from 'requests' and complaints to DEMANDS. What I've outlined is exactly what I'd be doing if I was in charge of any of these stores.

I also don't buy that this is about profit, as I'd bet that the small amounts of profit stores will be making from the bulk-buying of toilet roll and pasta, is negated by the logistical nightmare created in trying to replenish stocks in time for customers entering stores. That's the likelier reality.

In that respect, I wouldn't be surprised if they're holding back stocks to *reduce* panic buying, and therefore accordingly, profits, in an attempt to control the situation.

Having worked in retail management for years, I can say with some certainty that the main focus will be on allowing systems and stores to operate as smoothly, and therefore as normally as possible during this pandemic, and so 'profiting' from panic buying would be completely counterproductive.

Their computer tracks your every buy if your a clubcard user and a delivery user.. i go into a tesco and buy something it appears in my favs or usuals pretty quickly.
Giving their usual customers at least oppertunity to have one slot a week would have been easy to do.

no dates this month.. I have DELIVERY SAVER ACCOUNT AND GET SHOPPING EVERY 5 DAYS FOR MY SON but they havent bothered to take this into account and have just given the days to anyone.. folk that use it weekly and pay upfront should have had 1 slot a week reserved for them.. its not good enough ..tesco are just profiteering

What about using the likes Thomson Dairies, in Shotts, Grant, for your essentials, instead of supermarkets?

I seriously would, mate, as the service that they offer is superb, based on what I'm used to from mine. You just need to agree a safe place for items to be left, as deliveries will generally occur in the early hours of the morning.

Best to phone them up initially, to open an account, then afterwards everything is done online

We went to Tesco early this morning and managed to do a top up shop and get a few extras veg tins, frozen meat, and some cleaning products. So I reckon we have enough for about 4 weeks possibly 1 more. Not worth getting more as not enough freezer space and we don't want to live of tinned stuff.

So from now on it will just be a weekly top up, if we are able to. I will try and put a Tesco home delivery order in if and when slots become available, and if successful continue with that if possible.
