Glad it's not too bad so far Gaz. Wonder how we will spot when the zombie phase kicks in?

I'm always saying 'live for the moment', and that's important, but you also have to plan for the future, to *some* degree. So maybe if we hadn't spent thousands of pounds on endless amounts of hi-fi equipment, huge flatscreen TVs, CDs or LPs, etc, etc, etc, we'd have some money in the bank now to see us through this current crisis?

We're all guilty of frittering our money away on 'unnecessary luxuries', when we think we're flush, and of course you've got to live life and have some fun. However, sometimes it also pays to be sensible (and a little more frugal), as life has a bad habit of kicking us in the teeth... So perhaps when this pandemic is over, it'll teach folks to save a bit more in future! Just sayin...

I hear it can be serious, But i think a perfectly fit person will suffer Flu type illness. Ive had a dry sore throat for a few days now which keeps coming of going but how do i know if its just not a bit of cold or this? I don't.. Maybe its better to get it & build up an immunisation.. I just try keep away from people anyway. Not snogged the other half for a week.

Sure I get that, and remember you mentioning what happened in the past. However, exposing yourself to a potentially serious health risk, simply to continue working, right now is not the answer.

The answer is to TALK to your employers and see what can be done to address the current situation, and also to those whom you pay money (landlord, bank, energy supplier, or whoever) and explain the situation and why you're experiencing temporary financial difficulties, and agree a mutually acceptable solution. They'll already be aware of the situation that exists, and so will be sympathetic and do what they can to help. Basically, try and take the pressure off yourself for a bit, not pile more on...

Quite simply, if up until now you've paid your rent or mortgage on time, your gas and leccy, phone, council tax, etc, and have a good overall payment history with the companies/organisations concerned, then if you TALK to them and sort something out, they're not all of a sudden going to cut you off or kick you out of your house!

Therefore, it makes much more sense to COMMUNICATE with those necessary, trying to address the situation as best as possible, and protect your health than otherwise. The situation we're currently facing will rectify itself in a few months, and things will slowly get back to normal (or as normal as can be), so for the time being we all have to pull together and do whatever it takes to get past that period, not potentially put our health at serious risk and do things that really could adversely affect our future existence.

We have enough in the freezer last a few weeks, although we had to stock up on some of the fresh stuff, as we had nothing in due to going on holiday but that’s been cancelled of course. Lots bare shelves in the shops yesterday but the local butchers all have plenty of fresh stuff and will deliver free of charge as usual.
    Regards
