    First zep I bought was zep 1 as well
    But if you compare it to a 1st pressing of say Black Sabbaths first three albums, you will hear that the sabbs sounds far better.

    opinions i guess.... I had the sabbath stuff on first press at one time all bought when they came out as with zep stuff, along with Family and groundhogs.... oh and the early genesis stuff. Early sabbath was very well pressed and took a lot of abuse, as did my plums in the day I guess.

    Genesis sounded a bit pants imho.. The Early Sabbs Re-issues on WWA records sounded good but that was only because they were actually Swirl Vertigo pressings with WWA Labels. The Vertigo cat stampers are in the dead wax, sometimes scratched out. These go for a fraction of what you would pay for a 1st issue.

    I think the word plumb is derived from "plomb", which is French for lead (Pb on the periodic table).
