    Default Fitness Trackers!

A few days after receiving my Christmas present from Anita (Huwawei smartphone), I noticed there was a four-figure number at the bottom of the screen, which she tells me says how many steps I did that day. Been keeping an eye on it, and the number ranges between 6-7000. I tried to get that figure up (I was told 10,000 should be my target) by shaking the phone, but it wasn't having any of it. The number stayed the same.

How does it know when I'm walking? I don't carry the phone in my sock
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

So could I drive to Kendal and back and make it think I walked?

There's this guy who sometimes works with us, he doesn't need to' he owns rental properties all over Preston and goes on holiday every couple of months. I think he's just bored, or maybe his wife nags him about being a lazy shite. He certainly isn't the right shape for physical work.

Anyway, his wife bought him a fitness tracker, and he's since learned to walk around taking really small steps So his tracker thinks he's walked a mile when really he just went to the bog.

Just looked at today's figure and it's 5285 - so a lazy day then. I wonder what would be healthier, making myself a tuna salad (the kitchen is 20 steps away), or take the 3 mile walk to the kebab shop?

No doubt wearing it on your wrist would yield the same results...

I bought a cheapo fitness tracker a few weeks ago and it gives variable results. The steps function ranges from 3,000 on a lazy day at home to 17,000 when I move around a lot. Blessed thing has stopped working altogether now so might as well bin it. Had terrible trouble keeping it paired with the phone and despite forcing it to send data it would still break contact a short while later. It was fun though watching the heart rate climb when I was swearing at it when it wasn't behaving properly
    CD player = Marantz CD6006
    DAC/pre = Rotel RC 1572
    Power amp = ADA PF201
Speaks = Quadral Chromium Style 6

yup think so.. I had one a few years ago, my son bought it and didnt like it.. Was one of those expensive ones and strap broke at the watch and it was useless. They refused to replace even tho there had been a spate of same things.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
