Default MF MX Vinyl worth a listen...

    Hi,
I recently swapped out my Graham Slee fanfare, gram amp3 for a Musical fidelity MX Vinyl...

The step up in sound stage and detail was more than I hoped for, it may depend a bit on the rest of your kit, but I wouldn't think it should be a big problem...

If you're buying new, whatever it is, ask to audition it at home so you can hear it in your setup.

    Good luck....

What does the 'Ambience' control on the rear of the Thorens unit do?

Thanks, Pete, I just need to find one now or something similar.

I may be wrong but I believe it lights up the name 'Thorens' on the front fascia and is dimmable or can be turned off.

I too use an AT Art9 and i've found the Firebottle OTP Mk3 works extremely well with it, it's not too expensive either and well within your budget

Fair enough - I have a similar facility for the display on my CDP.
