Has anyone ever tried Greygate Plastic Polish ?

The GPP arrived yesterday and I set to work on my P3 lid. If you follow the instructions which say after application to let it dry completely before buffing it takes ages and is pretty hard work, I found it best to just leave it for 10-20 seconds and then buff to a shine, result is good and far less effort. Judging the feel as it goes on I think the amount of abrasion it produces is minimal which I think is probably a good thing, my P3 lid certainly looks a lot better for the treatment, I’d guess it’s removed about 90% of the surface marks and it’s added a shine, although I can’t confirm it but it may have some antistatic property. As to whether there maybe something cheaper that works as well I don’t know, including postage it cost £12.37 for a 100ml bottle, anyhow I’m pretty pleased with the results.

I gave up with old Turntable dust covers, just use a new Unicover kinda thing like the Michell covers, They are pretty much useless if you want to completely keep every spec of dust out but they do stop dust sitting on the most important bits, The Platter & Tonearm. I never thought standard lids look right on a deck, Decks look totally better without one attached. I find unicovers dont get in the way of the Aesthetics either.

Having had the polished dust cover in place for a week now I can confirm it does appear to have anti static properties, dust deposition on the lid has been greatly reduced, in fact a quick squirt with a dust off aerosol easily removes what dust is there, definitely been worth the effort.

Can't believe that no one has suggested T Cut! There's the standard version and the one for Metallic finishes, which is gentler

T-Cut may be a bit too abrasive, but might be OK to remove a bad scratch and then use finer Metal polish, I have done so on a sports car side window to get rid of marks.
