Lifting bars is easy, lifting stones (more so natural, odd shaped stones) is difficult. But, once you’ve got the grasp (pardon the pun) it’s like 2nd nature...

Noted. That's kind of what I thought your answer would be. I'm pretty strong myself, and can lift very heavy things [no, not just *that* Piggurs], but I wouldn't have the technique to tackle those stones, plus I'd be worried about doing in my back, which these days is something I'm rather protective of.

No idea, never contemplated it... x2 previously torn rotator cuffs would be a concern!

I compete in grip comps too; I’ve a grip that would concern anyone shaking my hand

Haha a few folk have said that... It is very oval, a smaller version of the Inver stone (which I couldn’t get to as the roads around Glenshee & Braemar we’re closed due to the snow)

However, this is the Menzies stone at Castle Menzies, Aberfeldy & very egg shaped & bloody hard to lift too, it’s so smooth

When you lift one of those things and get into that 'squatting' position, do you need to make sure you've taken a shit beforehand? I know if that were me, and I hadn't 'cleared the decks', as it were, in readiness for all that squeezing, I'd be filling the back of my pants with some 'unwanted padding'...

I’m wondering why they haven’t been “lifted”.....

Some of them are 'kept & managed'; others are in remote locations and 9/10 wouldn't be able to shift them without a few of them having to try and lift at the same time

So fortunately; they're fairly safe
