    Alan, they're very nice

The TASCAM 122 is a real sleeper. I heard a modified one at Alex Nikitin's house - it was insanely good for a cassette deck.

Agree the Tascam 122 is the only cassette deck I have owned so far that challenges my R2Rs
The one in the photo is a mk 2 but I also have a Mk3 now which needs some work but will be interesting to see how good it is compared to the Mk2
I also have a Tandberg TCD440A which again needs work but is also supposed to be very good
Does Alex post any details of the mods he does to the tascam 122?

I haven't seen any posts of Alex's 122 mods. He has made his Nak Dragon mods available on his website, but not the Tascam. Alex is usually really helpful, even though he doesn't have time to do any servicing work now. Maybe you could drop him an email and ask him.
