Default Streaming devices - I'm confused...

I'm lookiing to build a setup which is entirely dependent on digital sources. But I'm still learning!
I currently have the most basic kit - Sony Experia {with aptx HD and LDAC} or Desktop PC, Fiio BTR3 bluetooth dac/amp, Sony AV receiver, MA Bronze speakers br 1 and 2's.
I suscribe to Qobuz and also have lots of high res music on external hard drives.

    I have a question:

I've have been looking at streaming devices but can't work out why they would be better than my phone thro the Fiio? In fact they appear inferior in that they are so restricted as the the services they can access eg Tidal or Spotify Connect.
Obviously I'm missing something major here - what is it?

Told you I was new to this!

All i use is a dedicated to File playing DELL PC. I just fitted a Samsung SSD for ultra quick start up. Keep all my files on a second SSD outboard. Stream the Files via HRT streamer bypassing the PC internal sound card..

I use USB Audio Player Pro on my phone, which can connect from your own library and also use your Qobuz login to create a single catalogue. I use this to stream to my CCA or connect my phone to my D10 dac through the USB.

Works very well and no need for expensive boxes.
