Default Cost of used Records going up

I was looking thru Discogs today as i get alerts to Records i wanting, seems 12" singles are now getting stupid.. Seems that The vinyl thing for me is now getting impossible just when i thought their was a tiny glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel..

Maybe Discogs is the worse choice to make tbh..But aswell as having only two [Crap] used record shops near me, you just dont see 12" singles in there so im forced to buy online.. I have a short list of about a hundred 12" singles im wanting. Every one clocks in on 45rpm, I was gonna buy a more specialised Turntable as i would not need to fart about manually changing the speed. Going by the silly prices tho, it is a worry & the deciding point as to if im gonna dump Vinyl forever & ever amen..

Shame cos i have chance of a Manticore 'Mantra' TT for £80.

Luckily i have a great used record store 5 minutes away from where i live, Pete the owner will refund on any record he sells that isn't up to scratch "pardon the pun" to be honest he hasn't sold me a bad one yet, like others i feel discogs prices are on the high side and the quality estimates woefully inaccurate, my general rule is if i can't find it locally then i'll try ebay then if all else fails discogs, personally i don't buy many 12" singles but LP prices i mostly find ok.

I guess 12" singles stretch over many genres, but I've dozens of them lying about; not quite sure what the genre is; maybe 'dance;? They're kind of disco music, though some are vocal. Bequeathed by a neighbour for services rendered, who was moving into lodgings. Although the s.q, is generally very good (and better than standard 33 rpm LPs), I really don't like them for their brevity.

Far superior to LP sound quality basically the nature of them makes it so.. Pretty much all dance music was issued on them for DJ's but they were Prevalant with 80's Chart music for the extended mix or additional Remix 12" erz of the same single..

Some people are giving away cds, they have no idea that some of us value them, obv not as much as vinyl, but personally I quite like cd, streaming I find a chore!
