This is the latest scam around my area

Dig dong on the door bell

Open the door and confronted by a African man offering a handshake

Hollo Sir my name is Anthony I live just down the road , I work for the Royal Mail and don't get paid until tomorrow , We have no electric and have just had a baby , Could you help me out with £10 until tomorrow ?

So what do you do ? slam the door in his face or show some compassion ?

£10 handed over sort of makes you fell good helping out someone in need

3 day later has the £10 been returned , NO it hasn't , Taken for a mug , How can people do this and still sleep at night

Yes it was me that was will to help another human

Scamming will never end, If it isnt one thing it's another, been happening since time began sadly.

It comes and it goes and it comes back again, in one guise or the other, unfortunately.

We just have to say no, I dont have it, politely but firmly, as hard as that sometimes is, cause being duped can sometimes end up a lot worse than just the pain or embarrassment of being taken advantage of

Just don't answer the door unless you are expecting someone.

I mean it's never going to be good news is it? Just somebody who wants something from you.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

    Sad, but true.

    There's a saying Jamaican older folk have always said, remember hearing it numerous times as a kid, goes;

" Sorry fi mawga dawg, mawga dawg tun roun bite you "

In other words, "You feel sorry for the meagre/ skinny dog, it turns around and bites you" ...... wise words of warning / life survival skills.

    It’s my opinion!

Use one’s noddle, but I still feel it’s fundamental that you
Trust people. It’s a sad depressing way to live a life not
Trusting Anyone. There’s always going to be bell ends who try to take advantage of a good heart. I wouldn’t let that change my fundamentals on trust.

God, I hope people don’t teach that “trust no one” stuff to kids.
