    Default Studio Monitor Speakers

    Hi everyone,
This one may be a bit left field but I was wondering if anyone has used near field active monitors for normal listening.

I been watching some YouTube channels and speakers like the Yamaha HS series, HS7s,

or JBL306P series keep coming up.

My understanding is that Studio monitoring speakers have a flat EQ curve.

If you have can you say what your experience has been and any recommendations or ones to avoid.

    Thanks

    Lee

I jave a set of Klark Teknik active monitors. Bloody expensive back in the day but absolute quality with an amp (100w) for each driver.

    Hi,
How are you using the Mackie MR? Are you using them for near field monitoring or sitting a distance away and listening to music? How would you explain the difference between the Mackies and Yamaha ?
    Thanks

    I find the yammi's a bit bright..

They are sat on a studio desk near field.

What’s the view on 6” or 8” driver? Which one would be best in a two way speaker?
The only 8” speaker I had was a Monitor Audio RS but it didn’t really work in my room and I have moved now.
Am I right I thinking you lose out on the mid range but gain in the base with an 8” driver?
    Thanks
