If it ain' broke, don't mess about with it. Servicing of the mechanism deck is tricky. If the laser pickup guides are removed for cleaning and then eassembled, the guide bars need to be fixid exactly right and of the correct height. A bit more turn of the screws at either end can create an imbalance in height, which affects the angle at which the laser scans the disc.
