    Default Vintage CDP Servicing Anyone

    Any body know of someone / somewhere competent and recommended who can give my Pioneer PD91 a good and thorough service ?

    I'm in London so here or near would be ideal.
    My System:
    Amplification - Sansui AU-alpha 707 DR
    Turntable - Technics SP10 MK2-Technics EPA-250 Tonearm-Yannis Tome 423.5Plus tonearm cable-Eichmann KLEI Absolute Harmony plugs.
    Ortofon Cadenza Black moving coil cartridge-Fritz Gyger S re-tip. Panzerholz plinth.

    CDP - Pioneer PD-91
    Speakers - Spendor D7 on Soundcare SuperSpikes
    QED Silver Spiral speaker cable-airloc banana plugs
    Mains - Ultra Pure silver plated un-switched socket-Missing link EPS 500 silver plated plugs-Hi-Fi Tuning gold plated silver ceramic 13 amp fuses

    If it ain' broke, don't mess about with it. Servicing of the mechanism deck is tricky. If the laser pickup guides are removed for cleaning and then eassembled, the guide bars need to be fixid exactly right and of the correct height. A bit more turn of the screws at either end can create an imbalance in height, which affects the angle at which the laser scans the disc.     I would like to know that as well, But Robbie can you tell me do you have the transport screw if so could you possibly give me the size and a photo if possible as I do not have one, if not no problem.
