Well here's a thought then - some folk are having their cars 'vinyl wrapped' these days, as an alternative to paint spraying. Big choice of colours, and in a matt finish too. I wonder if that would work?

would a vinyl wrap do it...which you can get in almost any finish you want..I've watched a video of a car being done...it's clever stuff....look at the link..

Hi Andre - not sure why you think powder coating would not give a flat flawless finish. I have had a few pushbike frames powder coated by these people:

    Superb prep' and finish.
While they are a bit too far away from you, I am sure that there must be equally capable powder coaters up t'north.
Worth having a look at some of the special finishes - chrome could look cool

In the past ive had a few things powder coated like Thorens sub Chassis etc. I find a lot of companies are like cowboys, ripples galore, even the better ones have a tiny build up around say a cut out. These days there are some mega hard wearing specialist paint finishes applied by spray gun.. Just that when you take like just a Turntable plinth they aint interested. Not worth the bother. You see that synth in my avatar, thats what im looking for.
