    Default Paint re- finish

I have a 1970's turntable that i intend housing in a white plinth but the deck istself is a dark brown colour & would not look right. I do have another in really poor condition that im planning stripping & having it refinished in satin Black.

Now i cannot find a company that can do a pro hard wearing finish on it, it has to be totally flat & flawless.. Anyone know of a good company?

Its not powder coated. That would not be a flat flawless finish. I think its spray finish imaging say a Quad 33 paint finish in Brown..

even if the finish isnt dead flat and perfect a sheet of glass cut to size would produce a nice effect, and protect it too..

A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

That's not how I'm interpreting Grant's post - I see the suggestion being to have a thin sheet of glass (with appropriate cutouts) overlaying the turntable. The edges can be polished then tempered (any good glass merchants can make this happen). If the underside of said sheet of glass was then spray painted black, the result would be a high gloss finish of that colour.

Or maybe we're all misunderstanding what is wanted, in which case a pic of the deck may be enlightening

Its not a flush with the surround deck it stands off the plinth like a Garrard 401 would.. This original paint is perfect flat finish to my eyes..

Would it not be possible to strip the deck completely, and take the part to an automotive repair shop? I bet it wouldn't cost that much, they'd just include it with one of the other spray jobs. Same colour as your grandad's Austin Allegro would be a nice "vintage" touch
