Chicken
Just been watching TV and noticed a mother cutting fresh chicken on a wooden cutting board, This makes me cringe, Never ever would i do that & i bet she just gives it a quick wipe over..
If im beating a breast its ontop of cling film or cutting on a plate.. i once ill with Chicken & belief me if i had an idea what dying a slow death was that would be it.

Yup, cross-contamination is a major cause of illnesses and food poisoning, especially from poultry!
In that respect, we have dedicated (hard-plastic) chopping boards for meat, fish and veg - colour coded too, so the red one is strictly for meat. That's easiest way to do it and stay safe

Yes those hard polyester boards is a good idea, but i still got major OCD problems where i would be scrubbing my fingers sore afterward, Bleeching the sink after i let the water out, throwing the dish cleaner away etc etc.. I prefer to do the cling film thing that then goes in the bin, makes me feel better that way. I have a big round wooden board for cutting Bread & a large rectangular one for veg..

Yeah, whatever works for you, dude, works. Del or I don't have OCD, so the hard plastic boards work fine. You can never wash your hands too much though, when preparing food... Also, when it comes to raw chicken NEVER, EVER wash it, as all you'll do is spread the invisible bacteria!
Instead, the natural bacteria, present in all raw poultry, will be killed when it's cooked

I believe the salmonella can also be passed from chicken to mice, so I'm extra careful when preparing mice. They need to be cooked thoroughly, but a handy tip is to wrap tin foil round their tails, which can quickly burn.
