Dynavector DV-507 MkII Tonearm

A truly stunning piece of hi-fi engineering. It's as good to use as it is to look at as it sounds - everything about it is the highest quality. Tracks anything, easy VTA and other adjustments, suits any type of cartridge. The only thing they've got wrong, in my opinion, is the alignment with the inner null point at the inner band of the record, but you can use a different alignment.

It has some signs of use, it's not absolutely mint, but I don't think it could have been used at all and be in better condition. Original box, all accessories, unused headshell.

I should say I'm interested in swaps/part ex too; particularly something like a Well Tempered TT, Nottingham Analogue Hyperspace, or a SUT with low impedance (~3 ohm) primary.

That is a beautiful tonearm. That would be a great addition to so many turntables. If you decide to keep it, I would understand completely! I am very happy with my Acoustical Systems Aquilar, but this tonearm would be my next choice I think, if I hadn't decided already!

You did right Richard keeping it, be interesting to know exactly what you were planning as a replacement? I know they are expensive new but i know what i would buy one of those over the overrated brit arm everyone feels the need to opt for. Ive only ever heard the '501' which was good so im assuming this is even better..

I didn't have an exact plan Andre. I've spent a lot of headspace upgrading here and there, and then you get attached to some items and try optimise other items to work with them, even though it'll never be optimal. I keep tinkering around the edges. I don't really want to put too much more investment into my system, and I'm looking to free up some cash to try some more wholesale changes - this hobby's a bit more fun that way right?

So with my other sales, I need a new turntable too, and I think I'd have gone for a WT Versalex/Amadeus with its own arm, or an NA Hyperspace with one of their unipivots, although I think that would have meant a cartridge change too. As it stands, it's looking like I'll pick up a DV-500. It feels a bit like it's only half the WT package though, but I could always buy their standalone arm to try it if I feel the need. If money were no object, I'd have the 47 Labs Kona/Tsurube.

Summary: anything with a bit of a quirky/extreme approach to its engineering.

That is a fantastic looking thing, beautifully brutish, I can only imagine how it performs. Soon after I bought my Monarch turntable a few years ago, one came up for sale with this arm on it. Kicked myself so much I've still got the bruises. Not surprised you're keeping it, definitely an 'endgame' arm
