    Obviously not Japanese but the Philips 'GA230' Ideler/Belt Decks was superb built, cast alloy & but was let down buy the short flimsy arm fitted.. You could not fit a cart & headshell other than the one made for that deck.. All that said they do sound good..

    Anything made by Coral is lovely quality.
    It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    I doubt it was really made by Coral. The tonearm seems to be Micro MA-77 mkI, may be they made the whole TT for Coral?

    PL-7 was very similar but with a 12" platter.
